The Master degree in Peacekeeping Management is offered by the University of TurinÕs specialisation centre committed to post-graduate study and research in peacekeeping. The guiding principles which inspire the Master are the promotion, support and furtherance of values of cooperation and peace through studies which have a double objective: the learning of specialised skills and the consolidation of learning and knowledge with an international breadth.
The Master pursues its mission of preparing peace professionals through an interdependence of the academic aspect, cultural awareness and synergies developed with other prestigious bodies and partners such as the OSCE, the U.N., UNESCO, the U.N. Staff College, the Red Cross and the Armed Forces.
The Master strong points are: excellent teaching with a teaching staff of highly qualified lecturers from both Italian and foreign universities and directly from the field; a theoretical and practical multi-disciplinary approach to further learning to allow future peacekeepers to face and meet the various challenges and problems in peacekeeping; operational training with practical exercises which are essential for the safety of those who operate in the field, carried out with the Red Cross and the Italian Army; the international vocation, with all teaching in English, which favours and supports the learning experience of students from areas suffering from conflict or undergoing phases of democratic transition.
The quality of the results is confirmed by the fact that over 100 graduates of the Turin University Master degree in Peacekeeping Management are today making their contribution to peacekeeping throughout the world.
